Caught my brain cheating

“the last, I think, preparatory drawing for the painting”.

Well I woke up on Saturday morning realizing that I’d forgotten part of my original idea. So I opened Google Sheets on my phone, as I was trapped in bed under a cat, and noted down the additional movements, in numbers and letters, that it would need.

I’d caught myself not thinking about something quite important, so as a punishment I decided I had to draw out the whole painting, not just a part, to make sure I hadn’t missed anything else. Walking around like you’ve thought of everything 🙄. Really.

I started today. The “last prepatory drawing”, then, is actually the first of six that will make up a scale drawing (ish). This is probably the sensible thing to do - I’ll learn more and I will unlikely need to do it again if I make more paintings around this idea. Oh and the first “last” drawing also had errors in it due to the ommission of things I hadn’t thought about when I drew it.

This is part of the fun of it all, it’s nice to make little discoveries along the way.

There are no photos as I was drawing for hours and got too tired.
